Before you book
Send the journey, get a price
Tell us where from, where to, when, and who's travelling. We reply the same day with a complete price: fare, plus the crossing and tolls estimated for your dates. No obligation, and no follow-up calls you didn't ask for.
Choose how your pet travels
Ride along in the car with your pet, or book a pet-only journey where our driver collects your pet and brings them to you at the other end. Pet-only trips have a few extra requirements on timing and paperwork; we confirm those details with you before anything is booked.
Secure your date
Happy with the price? A deposit through a secure card link locks in your date and your driver. We then book the Le Shuttle crossing for your journey and send you a copy of the ticket, along with your driver's direct number.
Before travel day
Get the paperwork sorted, together
For Europe your pet needs a microchip, a rabies vaccination given at least 21 days before travel, and an Animal Health Certificate issued within 10 days of departure. Our paperwork guide walks you through it step by step, with timings.
We check your documents before the day
A few days out, we go through what you're carrying together: dates, stamps, spellings. Paperwork mistakes are the number one reason pet journeys fail at the border, and they're almost always avoidable.
Travel day
Pickup at your door
Your driver arrives at the agreed time, helps with luggage, and lets your pet settle into the car at their own pace. Air-conditioned, water on board, and your pet secured comfortably: lap, footwell, seat or crate, whatever keeps them calmest.
The crossing: 35 minutes in the car
We drive to the Folkestone terminal and board Le Shuttle with your pet in the car. The crossing takes 35 minutes; most pets sleep through it. No cargo hold, no kennels, no handing your pet to airport staff.
Comfort stops, then the front door
On the continental side we stop for water, a walk and a stretch as the route needs. Then it's motorway to the destination address. On pet-only journeys you get photo updates at every stage, and your pet is handed to you, never left waiting.
Coming back
Return journeys
Coming home needs one extra step for dogs: a tapeworm treatment given by a vet on the continent 1 to 5 days before arriving back in the UK, recorded in the paperwork. We check in at the Eurotunnel pet reception in Calais before boarding, so allow about 90 extra minutes. We handle the logistics; you just book the vet slot, and we can help you find one.
A note on nervous pets
Anxious travellers, old dogs, cats who hate carriers: tell us in the quote form. Calm handling is most of this job. Unhurried pickups, quiet cars, and a familiar voice nearby is usually all it takes.
